David Mead's Visitation
8th August, 2025
During his school visit, former NRL player and PNG Kumuls captain David Mead spoke to students about how sportsmanship, respect, and discipline can shape them into better people in life. He shared how, throughout his rugby career, showing good sportsmanship—such as playing fair, staying humble in victory, and gracious in defeat—helped him grow as both an athlete and a person. Mead emphasized that being respectful to teachers, parents, teammates, and classmates builds trust and strong character. He also spoke about the importance of discipline, such as making the right choices, working hard, and staying focused. Mead encouraged the students to carry these values with them every day, reminding them that who they are off the field is just as important as who they are on it.

Term 2, 2025 - Nature Park Excursion - Port Moresby
The educational excursion to Natures Park in Port Moresby was simply awesome for the School of Excellence students.
Known for its diverse range of animals and natural habitats. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about animal behavior, conservation, and ecosystems.
During the visit, students were guided through various sections of the park, where they observed animals such as birds, tree kangaroo, Wallaby, reptiles, and several bird species in their natural or semi-natural habitats. Park rangers provided informative talks about the animals’ diets, lifestyles, and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
Students had the opportunity to interact with some of the animals in a safe and controlled environment, and they also participated in nature walks and group activities that emphasized environmental awareness.
Overall, the excursion was both fun and educational, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation for nature and wildlife conservation.
